The magical Alice Holt forest have directed the work to engage with the nature not just use it as a backdrop. Emphasising concerns about alienation from nature I am using a disembodied body again. Although this time there are no bones but tentacles that are like nerve fibres trying to make sense over the world around. For some it might look like a disembowelled body. For me it weirdly almost literally illustrates Deleuze’s ‘body without organs’ or rhizomorphous vs arborescent concept. For the lovely fishermen it looked like ‘I am marrying a tree’. Nevertheless, it’s important not only for ourselves but to take out our works of art to generate new concepts and imagery in the nature.
